Charlie takes his inspiration from fiction and poetry mostly. He did his BA fives years before at Manchester. He feels that first and foremost you have to make work for yourself, which is a common point of view coming through from professional artists.
Mark has found in the past he has overthought work and sometimes not made anything at all as a result. Now he under thinks and just works. There are lots of different pots of money out there for funding if you look for it. You will need to work on how you make your work apply to their different criteria.
We were introduced to them and then met them later in the workshops, where they kindly viewed our worked, talked with us about what we are doing and gave us feedback. This opportunity to meet and talk with them was fantastic and helped me come to a decision with my Library Project. That I don't actually need to build a full scale version of the model, the maquette is enough and symbolises that the place in my memory, is to a certain extent trapped there and inaccessible. As I came to this decision, a huge weight lifted off my shoulders and it felt good!
