Studio Studies - Week 11

I'm busy preparing for the assessment this week, to be held in St Clement's Church.

We're setting up on the Tuesday 7th May and having an exhibition for friends and family 4-5.00pm.

I'm hoping my work will still be on display for the Thursday 8th May evening public meeting from 7pm.

I've also got work hanging in the UCS Waterfront foyer:

Work also to be in the Town Hall, Gallery Three from Thursday 8th May, some drawings, photos, printwork and a video about the passage of thousands of feet that the floor has seen and whether many of them noticed what was beneath their feet.

Some of my prints are also on the wall on the Art Block top floor corridor:

Work to be exhibited in Prettys on 21st May.

Library Project - Week 11

I am ready to present my Library Project, which will now happen on 13th May. I'm really looking forward to being able to present it finally, although I'm slightly nervous, because I think it will be quite emotional for me.

Tracy Emin's Tent really strikes a chord with what I'm doing, but it's from me.

This is the cabin I was initially trying to recreate:

Measurements being taken for the full scale 'cabin':

On the tape across the doorway, which I deliberately left up as long as possible, I wrote "Level 4 Narnia . . . beware of lions!"

The site location in the library I chose for the light and particularly sunlight there:

Assessment preparations 'Silence: Discovery & Exploration' - Week 11

My Drawing work is up on the wall in the Atrium Studios, ready for Assessment. I have to change some of the photos, as I'd had a problem with my photos, but now rectified. Such a relief to have it up, Studio Studies to pull together now!

The overall title for my Level 4 work is 'Silence: Discovery & Exploration':

I have also included a short piece of writing in response to the shadows passing across my paper in Week 10 Drawing, with thanks to Sarah Jacques:

Time Passes
The shadow moves across the page, and I chase it.
The thought moves through my mind, and I grasp at it.
Elusive.
You just need to listen.
