Totally overwhelmed by my grandson!

At last, he has arrived, all 7lb 9oz of his gorgeousness. He is just so amazing, so tiny, we are all in awe of him.

I'm supposed to be working hard on uni stuff, but struggling to concentrate, in a bit of a daze. I am so proud of my daughter and James too. Theo has wonderful parents and a doting uncle, we were almost fighting to touch him on first visit. Three of us changed and dressed him!

An early night and work hard tomorrow . . . honest.

Why isn't he here yet?!!

Still not a grandparent . . .

Really pleased with sculpture classes.  After standing and looking deep in thought at my initial ideas, it all started to come together.  Shape cut out of plywood, plastic mold made of plaster face, everything else ready to go for next week, hopefully.

Drawing is a bit hit and miss, don't think it is something I will specialise in, but I do realise the importance of practicing for use in art in general.  Also, makes a difference if I'm working with others, some people feel the need to talk a lot, which drives me round the bend, less is more!

I haven't done much painting, but Robin suggested painting on a different texture . .  I have ideas.  Having ideas isn't a problem, sometimes executing  them is.

Historical Precedent is really interesting, learning about the history side and how to read paintings.  The only problem is when we have to read text written by people who are obviously very full of themselves and write 1,000 words when 100 would have been sufficient.

Had an email to say I have been assigned the role of Assistant Curator for the Spring 2014 Pretty's Exhibition Team, with a view to then being Curator for Autumn 2014, yay exciting http://www.prettys.co.uk/default.asp?p=13&a=270

It has begun!

Am now in full swing of Level 4 Fine Art!!

My brain hurts and I'm struggling to juggle everything, husband, children, Mother, friends and of course the house.  Before my daughter says "what about the boys?" (meaning my cats), they kinda take my time whether I have it to share or not, bless them, they are lovely.

Painting lesson is great, as is Robin Warnes, our tutor.  Absolutely love sculpture classes, especially using the tools.  I can now use a mig welder and angle grinder, cool!  Historical Precedent is fascinating, although a bit full of hot air sometimes (the writings, not our tutor).  Drawing is hard, the first lesson I totally sucked, couldn't find the inspiration at all.  The next lessons have been much better, but I find it quite hard, don't think it's something I will specialise in.

It's great how the lessons are starting to all come together and I just love learning about art, it's a-maz-ing, as Craig would say.  Even managed to answer a question on Mastermind.

Have practiced painting in acrylics, printed off my presentation for Painting and made a to-scale template in cardboard for my sculpture lesson on Tuesday.

Amazing how quickly time has passed since Thursday lunchtime, when I was reveling in having the next three days without uni, oh well, better to be busy doing something you love.

You never know, the next time I write my blog, I might be a grandmother, sooooooo exciting.
